Padma Shri feted

TURA, Feb 21: Padma Shri Nanandro B Marak, a West Garo Hills-based pepper farmer, was recently felicitated by Bolwari Mahari Association.
“It was a proud moment for the Mahari and for the whole state. Commemorated the day with his family along with his close relatives on his great success that started from humble beginning,” secretary of the association, B Ch Marak, said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Association has expressed its gratitude to LP School teacher, Ringnang K Sangma, for introducing Nanandro to the Spice Board of Assam and helping him achieve the recognition.
The Association also thanked the Spice Board of Assam for recognising Marak and recommending his name for the award.
The Association also presented Marak with a citation.
