Logo, anthem for golden jubilee celebrations

SHILLONG, March 23: The Arts and Culture department, in the run-up to the golden jubilee celebrations of Meghalaya’s statehood, has decided to come up with a state logo and a state anthem.
Speaking to media persons following a review meeting, Arts and Culture Minister, AL Hek, said that they have planned that the theme of the state logo should blend together the state.
The idea of having a state anthem has also been approved in principle, he said.
In addition, the department also plans to conduct cultural festival, indigenous film festivals, painting competitions and other cultural programmes.
Meanwhile, the department has also been asked to prepare the budget for the programmes to commemorate the 50 years of Meghalaya’s statehood.
