Suicide
One Steral Kurbah (42) of Nongdom village in West Khasi Hills died by suicide. In an FIR, the father of the deceased, Beral Sun, informed that on Tuesday evening his son was found hanging at his residence.
Prohibition
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Amlarem Civil Sub-Division, has prohibited public from washing clothes, utensils, vehicles, bathing and dumping of garbage in the water source of Amlarem Water Supply Scheme at Jarain, West Jaintia Hills.
In another order under Section 144 CrPC, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Amlarem Civil Sub-Division has prohibited plying of heavy vehicles in excess of 9 tonnes through bridges between Dawki-Muktapur road. The order was necessitated in view of a number of heavily loaded vehicles plying along the road, which can deteriorate the condition of the bridges, thereby endangering the lives of commuters.

All IMFL shops and bars in Ratacherra, Malidor, Umkiang and other areas bordering Cachar in Assam, have been ordered to close down from 6 pm of March 30 till 6 pm of April 1 on account of the upcoming Assembly polls in Assam.
