Cop assaulted
On March 23 around 5 pm, police received information that one Emlang Blah (23) was creating trouble at Saiden village, Ri Bhoi. Later, while he was being taken to Nongpoh Police Station, he hurled abuses and assaulted one sub-inspector.

Theft
Jimora Nongkseh lodged a complaint that on March 23 around 6.30 am, unknown miscreant(s) stole two bags of betel nuts valued around Rs 35,000 from Umsning market, Ri Bhoi.
Abhigyan Chakraborty lodged a complaint that on March 23 around 10.20 am, while he was deboarding a taxi near Ram Krishna Mission, Laitumkhrah, the cabbie sped away before he could take out his bag containing a laptop and a DSLR.
Monakur Chakma lodged a complaint that on March 20, unknown miscreants stole his motorcycle (AS-01-DQ-0873) from his residence at Demthring, Shillong.
Rustam Ali lodged a complaint that on March 18 around noon, one unidentified person stole two mobile phones from his residence at Polo, Shillong, and fled.
Ricky Khan lodged a complaint that on March 20 around 7.30 pm, one unknown person stole his mobile phone near MTC Building, Police Bazar, and fled.
Akhtar Hussain Laskar of Ascend Telecom Ltd lodged a complaint that on March 16, unknown miscreants stole ten-metre-long feeder cable worth Rs 11,149 from their site at Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills.

Shot at
It is reported that on March 22 around 11.50 pm, one Kyrdan Iawphniaw (35) of Nongsteng village under Sohra PS, East Khasi Hills, shot at one person and fled. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was rushed to NEIGRIHMS. Later, Sirdar and residents of Nongsteng village apprehended the accused and handed him over to police.

Cattle seized
Manoj Kumar, Assistant Commandant, 30 Bn., BSF, BOP Lyngkhat, lodged a complaint that on March 21 at about 8.30 am, BSF personnel recovered five heads of cattle near BOP Lyngkhat, East Khasi Hills.
Pradeep Kumar, Assistant Commandant, 30 Bn BSF, BOP Pyrdiwah, East Khasi Hills, lodged a complaint that on March 23 around 8.30 pm, BSF personnel recovered four heads of cattle from near BOP Pyrdiwah, East Khasi Hills.

Property damaged
Ashok Kumar Pandey, proprietor of AK Enterprise, lodged a complaint that on March 16 at about 5.51 am, two unidentified miscreants trespassed into his premises at Pynthorbah, Shillong, and deliberately damaged the wires of his AC machine. The incident was captured in the CCTV installed on the premises. Further, on March 19, one of the miscreants trespassed into his residence and committed theft.
