SHILLONG, March 27: Congress legislator PT Sawkmie on Saturday conducted an inspection at Mawlai and sought the cooperation from one and all to reduce traffic congestion in the area.
Mawlai witnesses incessant traffic snarls, and due to the ever-increasing traffic, police personnel are coming up with ways and means to ease the congestion.
Sawkmie, after the inspection, informed that taxis have been barred from operating from the old taxi stand in Mawlai Stanley Roy junction in order to ease the congestion.
He then exhorted the commuters to cooperate with the police in regulating smooth traffic flow. “Cooperation from all the stakeholders is very important to come to an acceptable solution to ease the traffic snarl,” he said.
“It is the duty of the police to make it convenient for everybody and for that to happen, everyone also need to cooperate,” he added.
