TURA, April 14: The Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers from Garo Hills have bemoaned that despite the sanction for the release of salaries, they have failed to receive the pay for the months of January and February.
According to the teachers, while the sanction order from the Project Director, Semam-Samagra-Shiksha Abhiyan and the Director of School Education and Literacy has already been issued, it was found during inquiry that the sanction letter has been issued without the money being available for payment.
“The terms and conditions of the sanction letter ware very clear that the salary was to be paid on or before March 31 this year. The non-payment of our salaries despite the sanction already being made amounts to depriving the rights of the SSA teachers as well as others for whom the salary was meant and sanctioned,” they said.
“Non-payment of our salaries despite the sanction order is a deprivation of our rights,” they said.
