Penalty
The District Child Protection Officer, West Khasi Hills, has informed that administering intoxicating or narcotic drug or psychotropic substance to anyone below 18 years of age, except on the directive of a duly qualified medical practitioner, will entail rigorous imprisonment for a term, which may extend to seven years. Furthermore, a penalty of up to one lakh can also be imposed.
Prohibition
West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Supply) has informed that door-to-door delivery of diesel has been allowed for the convenience of the customers. However, the general public has been prohibited from dispensing diesel on roadsides with immediate effect.
Unclaimed body
A male body was found lying at Ri Bhoi sumo taxi stand in Garikhana, Shillong, on Monday. The body was then shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital and inquest and other legal formalities were observed. The body has, meanwhile, been kept at the hospital morgue for claim. Any concerned who can identify the body has been asked to contact 03642222214 or 03642222215.
Appeal
The Meghalaya Upper Primary School Teacher Association (MUPSTA), South West Khasi Hills, has appealed to the all upper-primary schools teachers from the district to attend the general meeting on Saturday at 11 am.
Natl Lok Adalat
The District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson of District Legal Service Authority, Ri Bhoi, will organise National Lok Adalat in the office of the District and Sessions Judge, Ri Bhoi, on Saturday from 10 am onwards.
