CENTURION, April 16: Pakistan almost made a mess of it, but they hold onto their nerve in the final overs and Mohammad Nawaz applied the finishing touches, winning the series by a 3-1 margin.
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam helped the visitors gain a lead of 2-1 in the last game, while their bowlers and Fakhar Zaman came to the party today.
It was a fantastic effort by their bowlers to restrict South Africa and although the visitors lost Rizwan early in the run chase, Zaman made sure to take on the opposition in the powerplay.
The southpaw blasted his way to a quick fifty, before Lizaad Williams got him for 60.
Pakistan did lose wickets in a cluster, but Mohammad Nawaz sealed it with his winning six.
Earlier, Rassie van der Dussen scored 52 from 36 balls but South Africa crashed from 73 for one and 109 for two to post a below-par total of just 144 all out.
That was after Babar had won the toss and put the Proteas to bat first.
Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf were the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets each. (Agencies)
