3 ONGC employees abducted by ULFA-I from Assam oil field

GUWAHATI, April 21:  A group of armed ULFA-I militants abducted three employees of the public sector oil giant ONGC including two junior engineers assistants (Production) and a junior technician (Production)from Lakwa Oil Field of the ONGC in Sivasagar district of Assam in the wee hours today.

The abducted ONGC employees have been identified as Mohini Gogoi, Alakesh Saikia and Ritul Saikia.

The banned United Liberation Front of ULFA (Independent)  claimed responsibility for the abduction in theafternoon. Police said that the group of militants used the ambulance of the ONGC  at the rig  site to abduct the employees. The ambulance along with its driver was later released by the ULFA militants after some distance.
