Oath-taking ceremony for judicial officers

SHILLONG, April 26: The Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-in-Chief Meghalaya State Judicial Academy, Justice Biswanath Somadder, administered the oath to three Grade-I judicial officers at a function held in the conference hall of the Court on Monday.
In his address, the chief justice urged the officers to work diligently and to render their services with utmost commitment.
Somadder asserted that their profession is not a career but rather a commitment.
The most important duty of the judges is to try to remove inequality which is why in the Constitution, the word ‘Justice’ is followed by Social, Economical and Political, he added.
Others who were present during the oath-taking ceremony included Justice HS Thangkhiew, Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya and Judge-in-Charge Meghalaya State Judicial Academy, Justice W Diengdoh, Judge of the High Court and C Dkhar, Director, Meghalaya State Judicial Academy among others.
