Free rice quota for three dists

SHILLONG/TURA, May 11: Free rice under PMGKAY for NFSA households (AAY and PHH) at the scale of 5 kg per head for May has been released through the respective fair price shops in East Khasi Hills South West Garo Hills and North Garo Hills.
All fair price shops have been directed to distribute the quota as soon as the stock arrives and to display the list of beneficiaries and the timing of operation in their respective shops, the Deputy Commissioner (Supply) of East Khasi Hills said.
Meanwhile, the DC (Supply) of North Garo Hills informed that scale of issue is Rs 3 per kg at the scale of 35 kg per household for AAY beneficiaries, Rs 3 per kg at five kg per head for PHH, non-NFSA will avail 7.215 kg per household at the rate of Rs 9.32 per kg, while AAY & PHH will receive five kg per head free of cost.
South West Garo Hills Deputy commissioner, Ramakrishna Chitturi, informed that PDS rice under NFSA and PMGKAY rice has been released for May.
The scale of issue of rice under NFSA for AAY card holders is 35 kg per card per month at Rs 3 per kg; 5 kg per head per month at Rs 3 per kg for PHH card holders and for non-NFSA, 7.05 kg per card at Rs 10-13 per kg. Under PMGKAY, the scale of issue is 5 kg per head per month free of cost for both AAY and PHH card holders.
