Condolence
The principal and staff of Laban Assamese Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Shillong, have condoled the demise of Silbon Nora Lyngdoh, retired assistant teacher. A statement in this regard informed that Lyngdoh had retired in 1996. “Even after retirement, she was actively associated with the school. Her demise was a great loss for the school and society. We pray that her soul may attain eternal peace,” the statement said.
Dry day
A dry day has been declared in East Jaintia Hills on Monday on account of ‘Tuber Behdeinkhlam’. This was informed on Thursday by East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise). “Therefore, all wholesalers, IMFL retailers, bars and outstills shall remain closed,” the directive said.
