MDC resolves to raise awareness on vax, COVID

SHILLONG/TURA, July 18: Becoming fully vaccinated, BJP MDC from Tura Bernard N Marak has resolved to raise awareness through campaigns on the importance of getting vaccinated against COVID-19.
The MDC is planning to organise sports and extra curricular activities for youngsters such as motocross and adventure events, singing, dancing etc., to create awareness about vaccination.
Bernard, however, maintained that he does not endorse forced vaccination even as he acknowledged that various elements are spreading rumours and creating confusion among the commoners.
To take the campaign to a higher level, Marak said that he is planning to organise online song competition on COVID-19 and importance of vaccination.
He informed that his voters have come together to sponsor these activities which he is planning to organise during his campaign. “It is very important to stay healthy and remain active in order to overcome the dreaded virus,” he said.

Tura MDC to monitor central scheme implementation

The BJP MDC, Bernard N Marak, has been charged with looking after the implementation of the central scheme — Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) — in the state.
According to a statement issued here by the party, the Tura MDC as In-charge along with co-in-charge, David Kharsati, will be monitoring the implementation of the central scheme in all districts of Meghalaya and submit reports of any anomalies in their findings to their headquarters in Delhi.
The two were reportedly appointed by the State BJP president Ernest Mawrie on the the direction of the party high command at the Centre.
“Any complaint regarding PMGKAY may be submitted to the in-charge and co-in-charge in written format which will immediately be looked into by them. BJP wants to ensure that all schemes reaches the grassroots level benefitting all beneficiaries,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, in charge of Ranikor Civil Sub-Division, HS Diengdoh, has declared the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Ranikor and the house as well as compound of Justina Thongni and Beautiful Thongni at Kensohsan village under Ranikor as micro containment areas after detecting positive cases from the areas.
