DC bans flying of drones around Shillong Airport

NONGPOH, July 21: Ri Bhoi Deputy Commissioner, RM Kurbah, has prohibited flying of any Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) or drones unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), etc. within an aerial distance of 3 km from the parameter of Shillong Airport, Umroi.
In the directive, the DC warned that violation of the order will result in suspension or cancellation of the UIN/UAOP of the Remotely Piloted Aircraft issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
“This has been done in view that flying of Drones unmanned aerial vehicle etc may cause disturbances to the air traffic controller,” the DC said.
