USTM bats for yoga to devp personality

SHILLONG, Aug 2: Maintaining that yoga can be a great medium to overcome the crisis in personality development in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a seven-day national workshop is being organised under the aegis of the Department of Physiotherapy, University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) and the faculty & Department of Yoga, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, between August 2-8 on the theme ‘Yoga to Overcome Crisis in Personality Development due to Covid-19’. The inaugural session on Monday which was held between 3 pm and 5 pm, was presided over by Prof. GD Sharma, Vice Chancellor of USTM, and graced by chief guest Prof Shri Prakash Mani Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak.
Keynote speaker of the session was Prof. VR Ramakrishna, Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Research Institute, Bengaluru.
Eminent scholars from the country and abroad will participate during the course of the workshop The workshop consists of sessions on yoga practice in the morning from 6.30-8.30 am and lecture sessions by experts from 3 pm to 5 pm. More than 1,000 participants from across the country have registered for the workshop, which will be telecast live on Facebook.
