Coal-laden vehicles detected
On September 28 around 11.15 pm, police detected two trucks (ML-06-4245 and ML-10B-7691) illegally transporting coal at Patharkhmah-Umrit-Nongladew Road, Ri Bhoi.
On September 30 around 7.30 pm, police detected one vehicle (ML-04C-3979), driven by Is Suting (34), illegally transporting coal, at Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi.

Theft bid
On October 3 between 2.30 am and 3 am, three-four miscreants attempted to break open the HDFC ATM kiosk at Wapungskur village, East Jaintia Hills.

Assault
On September 30 around 12.30 pm, three scrap collectors, viz. Riyaj Ali (24), Yakub Ali (23) and Nojot Ali (38), all from Krishnai, Assam, were in Mendal Megagre village, North Garo Hills, for collection of scraps, village locals suspected them to be child-lifters, chased and assaulted them at Chisim A’pal village. In the incident, victims sustained injuries and were sent to PHC Rari for treatment.

Cattle seized
Ramesh Lamba, Company Commander, C-Coy, 30 Bn BSF, BOP Jaliakhola, West Jaintia Hills, lodged a complaint that on September 30 around 5.30 pm, security personnel on duty detected suspicious movement of unidentified miscreants near BP No. 1293/126 along Indo-Bangladesh International Border, West Jaintia Hills. When challenged by the security personnel, the miscreants managed to escape. During search, security personnel recovered eight numbers of cattle form the PO.
