Endangered rock python rescued, released in NGH

TURA, Oct 17: A rock python which strayed into human habitation at a village in North Garo Hills was on Sunday rescued by a joint team of Bajengdoba Police and officials of the Forests and Environment, Wildlife Division, Tura.
The constrictor reportedly strayed into the village of Getapara under Bajengdoba Police Station of the district.
The presence of the animal was brought to the notice of the concerned officials by the village Headman.
Following the information, the endangered reptile was captured and has since been released back into the wild for its safety.
