AMPATI, Oct 30: A team of doctors at Ampati Civil Hospital in South West Garo Hills have successfully performed Hernioplasty surgery on a patient.
According to a statement, the patient is now in a stable condition following the surgery, which was conducted for the first time in the hospital since its inception.
“This first-ever major and successful surgery in the hospital is a significant milestone not only for the medical fraternity of the state but will also be a ray of hope for the people of South West Garo Hills in particular,” the statement said.
It may be mentioned that the decision to conduct the surgery was taken by the doctors after it was revealed that the patient could not afford the same outside the district.
The surgery was conducted by a team of doctors with the help of a renowned Tura-based Anaesthesiologist (retired), Dr. Greena K Marak.
