Workshop
The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, under the Union Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya, organised a classical dance workshop in ‘Bharatnatyam’ at Lumparing Vidyapit School, under the guidance of Monica Chanda. The closing ceremony will be held on the school premises at 1:30 pm on Wednesday.
Local holiday
The Commissioner and Secretary, General Administration (A) Department, has informed that all government offices and all revenue and magisterial courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills will remain closed as local holiday on Thursday on account of Shad Nongkrem.
Unclaimed bodies
An unknown male patient, aged 58 years, was admitted in the Male Medical Ward – 1, Bed No. 30, of Civil Hospital Shillong on November 2. The patient expired on November 7 at 3:25 AM, a statement issued here informed. All concerned have been requested to collect the body from the hospital morgue immediately, failing which it will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
Meanwhile, an unknown male body, approximately 38 years of age with swarthy complexion, was found lying on NH-06 near Byndihati village under Khliehriat Police Station, East Jaintia Hills, informed Superintendent of Police of East Jaintia Hills. The person was suspected to have been run over by a vehicle. All formalities have been observed and the body is kept in hospital morgue for identification.
