TURA, Nov 28: NCC Day was observed by NCC cadets of Don Bosco College through a blood donation camp where many of the students volunteered themselves. The programme was held in collaboration with the Blood Bank, Tura. Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills Ram Singh was the chief guest of the inaugural programme.
Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh encouraged the cadets to be of service to the society and the college.
He said that NCC is expanding in Meghalaya and in particular in the border areas adding that the expansion is a positive move towards extending NCC to all the schools and colleges of Garo Hills.
Singh also informed the cadets about the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the flagship programme of the central government to make India drug-free while at the same time encouraging the cadets to be examples to other students and people they meet every day.
