EAC air display
As part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations, the Eastern Air Command (EAC) will organise an air display on Saturday at Umiam Lakeview. According to a statement, during the programme, a fly-past will be performed followed by an air display by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force. The programme will be attended by Governor Satya Pal Malik as the chief guest.
Office-bearers
The Dorbar Shnong of Kench’s Trace, Oxford Hill and Rilbong has elected new office-bearers for a three-year term. They are Glanding Lyngdoh as Rangbah Shnong, Hamsya Chen as Assistant Rangbah Shnong, Mubarak Lyngdoh as Secretary, Rishan Rynjah as Assistant Secretary, Dikes Shadap as Treasurer besides three Rangbah Dong, eight executive members and TW Chyne as Adviser to the Dorbar Shnong.
Competition
Winners of the online inter-college presentation competition on ‘Major Environmental Issues in North East India’, which was held on November 26, have been announced by the organisers, Departments of Botany and Environmental Science of Sankardev College, Shillong. According to a statement issued here on Monday, the first prize was awarded to F Phibhakordor Kynta of Shillong College, Abhinav Das of St. Anthony’s College bagged the second prize, and David Lamson Vaiphei of KL Bajoria College got the third prize. As many as four consolation prizes were also awarded to Kaini Basena of Lady Keane College, Rajshree Chakraborty of BBS College, Mugdha Bhattacharjee of Sankardev College and Steffinie Carrie Nongrum of Synod College, the statement added.
