Guv, CM condole death of CDS, 12 others

SHILLONG, Dec 8: Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik and Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday condoled the death of Chief of Defence Staff Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika and 11 other people on board an IAF helicopter which crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu.
“Deeply shocked over the untimely demise of Gen. Bipin Rawat, his wife and the brave soldiers in the helicopter crash. India has lost one of its bravest sons. May God bless their souls and speedy recovery to the injured. Condolences to the families,” Malik tweeted.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Sangma wrote, “I join the entire nation in mourning the loss of our 1st CDS, Gen. Bipin Rawat ji in the unfortunate accident today that also claimed his wife & 11 defence personnel. My heart goes out to the families of the victims of this terrible tragedy. May God grant the souls eternal rest.” (UNI)
