Unclaimed body
A man, identified as Kiran Khanal, was found hanging by a rope tied to the ceiling of one iron rod in House number 45 JB Cantt. Accordingly, inquest was observed and the body was sent to M&HO Shillong Civil Hospital for autopsy. Following the post-mortem examination, the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for identification and claim. Meanwhile, all concerned have been asked to contact 03642548151 or 03642222214 for the same.

Inauguration
Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh will inaugurate the Biofertilizer Production Unit of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare at State Biological Control Laboratory, Upper Shillong, on Monday.

Raids
The Office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner (Excise) conducted raids in restaurants/stalls in the town and its outskirts in October and arrested 31 persons in this connection. According to a statement, 335.110 litres of illicitly distilled liquor and 71.210 litres of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) were confiscated while 45 cases were detected.

Programmes
The Directorate of Horticulture will organise a one-day state-level exhibition-cum-fruit festival on Wednesday at All Saints’ Hall, Shillong, at 11 am.
The Directorate of Horticulture will hold a special programme on ‘Lakadong Mission’ at IATC Upper Shillong on Monday. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh will attend the programme as the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively.

Base-laying
A foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Inspection & Certification Centre at Meghalaya Transport Corporation Central Workshop, Sawlad, Law-u-Sib, will be held on Monday at 10 am. Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will be part of the programme.
