17-year-old girl ‘jumps’ in front of train, dies

Gurugram, Dec 19 : A 17-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train near Chauma village railway crossing, the police said on Saturday.

According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), the victim, originally from Uttar Pradesh, lived here in Chauma village along with her family.

She was a Class 12 student in a government school in Carterpuri village and was a football player in her school’s team.

Police said that on Friday night, the gateman informed the station master that a girl had been hit by a goods train.

The GRP, after receiving the information from the station master, rushed to the spot.

The body had a severe head injury and her leg was crushed under the train.

A suicide note was found from the spot, in which the victim had mentioned that she is not well prepared for the economics exam, scheduled on Saturday, and due to which her future may be spoiled. So she is committing suicide, the police said.

“The victim’s body has been handed over to the family after an autopsy on Saturday. A case under section 174 of CrPC has been registered in the matter,” said a police officer.(IANS)
