SHILLONG, Dec 28: The state capital, which has already been witnessing chilly days, will see a further dip in the mercury come next week.
Informing this, the Indian Metrological Department, Shillong, said that the temperature in Shillong will plummet to as low as five degree Celsius next week.
It is also said that the temperature in January may see a further dip.
It may be mentioned that Shillong, of late, has seen an increase in the inflow of tourists, predominantly from the states of Assam and West Bengal.
Corroborating the healthy inflow of tourists to Shillong, hoteliers have informed that most of Shillong-based hotels are packed.
The state capital had, just days ago, witnessed one of the coldest days in a while after hailstones lashed parts of state.
