Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner (Excise) of South West Khasi Hills, C Kharkongor, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 324 (A) of the ME Act (Assam Excise Rules as adopted), has declared dry day in the entire district on January 1 on account of New Year’s Day. All liquor shops/IMFL shops/bars/hotels/CA bars/CS shops/ and outstill stalls will remain closed on the day and any violation will amount to punishment as per law.
