Lumpyngngad, Mawsynram in 3rd Div cricket league final

SHILLONG, Jan 9: Lumpyngngad CC and Mawsynram reached the final of the Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) Third Division cricket league following convincing victories, here on Sunday.
In the first semi-final, Lumpyngngad won the toss and chose to bat first against Elite CC, scoring a respectable 156/6 in their 20 overs. Player-of-the-Match Akash Dutta anchored the innings, scoring 66 runs that came off 55 balls while Vishal Balmiki also contributed a valuable 28 off 26 balls. For Elite CC, Ravi Kumar returned claimed 3/30.
Chasing, Elite CC never really found themselves in the hunt and were skittled out for 115 in 18.4 overs, handing Lumpyngngad a 41-run win. Rahul Das top-scored with 23 as none of the other batters could really get the scoreboard moving.
In the second semi-final, Mawjam CC won the toss and elected to bat first against Mawsynram, before being bowled out for only 94 runs in 16.4 overs. George Kharbuli (37) and Dexter Swer (21) tried to hold the innings together but there were no significant contributions by the rest of the batters.
Player-of-the-Match Dau Labiang returned figures of 3/20 from 3.4 overs.
Mawsynram then knocked off the required 95 in 16.1 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Rudy scored 23. Laxman Gurung took 2/16 from his 4 overs.
