State logs 159 new cases, two deaths

SHILLONG, Jan 11: Meghalaya on Tuesday reported a single-day spike of 159 fresh COVID-19 cases after many months.
The active COVID-19 cases now stand at 578, while two more patients died of the infection taking the death toll to 1,489.
A total of 83,396 people have so far recovered from the viral infection including 27 on the day.
131 fresh cases were reported in East Khasi Hills, 14 in West Garo Hills, six in Ri-Bhoi, four in West Jaintia Hills, three in West Khasi Hills and one in East Jaintia Hills.
