State logs 166 new COVID cases

SHILLONG, Jan 12: The state on Wednesday recorded 166 fresh COVID-19 cases while no death was reported in the past 24 hours.
The active tally now stands at 701 while 83,439 people have recovered from the viral infection including 43 on the day. The death toll remains at 1,489.
143 fresh cases were reported in East Khasi Hills, eight each in Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills, three in West Jaintia Hills, two in West Khasi Hills and one each in East Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills.
