SHILLONG, Jan 16: NEPA and Innings displayed clinical performances as they won their respective Shillong Cricket Association Second Division matches convincingly, here on Sunday.
In the first match, NEPA won the toss and chose to bat first against Slog Warriors, scoring 142/4 in 20 overs. Subrato Sinha (37) and Player-of-the-Match Manikant Sinha (33) were the top-scorers. Anil Rai took 1/23 for Slog Warriors.
In their chase, Slog Warriors could only manage a paltry 81 before being bowled out in 18.1 overs. Biswajit was the highest scorer with 13. Manikant returned figures of 2/13.
In the second match of the day, Innings won the toss and fielded first against Sales XI, who were bundled out for 110 in 20 overs. Amit Paul was the top-scorer for Sales XI with a run-a-ball 24. For Innings, Bijoy was the pick of the bowlers, claiming figures of 3/17 in 4 overs while Player-of-the-Match Pinku Ghosh took 2/22.
In their reply, Innings made light work of the target, scoring 111/5 in 16 overs with Pinku finding himself in the thick of action yet again, making 31 off 21 balls and Jintender Rai adding 20 in 16 balls. Swaroop Dey took 2/25.
