M’laya govt effects bureaucratic rejig

SHILLONG, Jan 18: In what can be termed as a crucial bureaucratic reshuffling in the state effected by the Meghalaya government, Deputy Commissioner of Ri-Bhoi, Rosetta Mary Kurbah, has been transferred as Secretary to the Health and Family Welfare department.
According to a government notification issued here on Tuesday, Joint Secretary of the Health department, Ram Kumar S, will now also function as the Chief Executive Officer of Meghalaya Society for Social Audit and Transparency.
Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, Ramakrishna Chitturi, has been posted as the Joint Secretary to the Finance department, and in his place, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) in-charge, Amlarem, Abhilash Barnawal, has been posted as the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills.
The notification has also paved way for Deputy Secretary to the Planning department, Jagdish Chelani, to also function as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Family Welfare.
In addition, ADM in charge of Pynursla, Arpit Upadhyay, has been transferred as the Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi, while SDO (Sadar) Ri Bhoi, Shivansh Awasthi, has been transferred as the Under Secretary to the Finance department.
He will also function as Under Secretary to Sports and Youth Affairs department.
According to the notification, Wanrillin AM Booth, Director of Sports and Joint Secretary to the Sports and Youth Affairs department has been relieved of her duty as Joint Secretary of the department.
Anita Kharpor has been relieved of her functions as Executive Director, Meghalaya State Skills Development Society
Lastly, Evarinia L Warjri has been posted as ADC in-charge Pynursla Civil Subdivision, while Lanalang K Diengdoh has been posted as Extra Assistant Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills.
