SHILLONG, Jan 18: Breaking silence on his exit from the State Planning Board, ex-Chairman Lambor Malngiang said on Tuesday that he made every effort during his tenure to contribute to the proper functioning of the Commission.
Asserting that during his four years, he came with good number of helpful suggestions on different activities, Malngiang who is now appointed as the Adviser to the Chief Minister said that he will continue to be a part of the MDA Government which is ‘a big family’ in itself and that there have not been any issues on the matter.
“We have to understand that this is a democratic country and we have to accept the decision taken by the Chief Minister and I understand we have to give some room and space to others to exercise their duties,” he said.
Notably, the State Planning Board saw a major reshuffling last month after the then-Chairman of State Planning Board, Lambor Malngiang was removed from his position. Malngiang was replaced by NPP MLA Abdus Saleh after complaints were lodged by Saleng Sangma regarding the malfunctioning of the Planning Board.
Refusing to react on the statements of Saleng Sangma, Malngiang said that he will try to give his best advice to the Chief Minister now since he has been appointed as the adviser to the Chief Minister.
