Online classes may resume next week

SHILLONG, Jan 22: Online classes for schools and colleges may reopen from next week as the extended winter vacation will end on Monday, a government official informed here on Saturday.
It was also informed that the state government will issue a detailed order on Monday.
It may be mentioned that COVID-19 cases started surging in Meghalaya right after the New Year celebration and in view of the increasing cases the state government had extended the winter vacation till January 24.
With the surging number of new cases in the state, the Centre has cautioned Meghalaya to not only ramp up COVID-19 testing but also impose more local restrictions.
