West Garo Hills
In Tura, Parliamentarian Agatha K Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of seven parade contingents at Matchakolgre LP School Playground.
Other highlights of the day include colourful dance and songs, display of tableaux of departments Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Border Area Development, and Soil and Water Conservation.
During the programme, COVID-19 warriors, sportspersons, meritorious students, among others, were felicitated.
East, West Jaintia Hills
In Jowai, Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong unfurled the Tricolour and took the Salute at Jrisalein Playground. Other highlights of the celebration include tableaux presentation by various departments, and distribution of Certificate of Appreciation to the participants in the cultural programme and to district heads who participated in the tableaux display.
On the other hand, in Khliehriat, MLA Nujorki Sungoh unfurled the Tricolour and took the Salute at Khliehriat Higher Secondary School Playground. Other highlights of the celebration included cultural dance and tableaux presentation by various departments.
As part of the celebration, the district officials distributed gifts to Children’s Home (Boys) and Children’s Home (Girls), CHC Khliehriat and CHC Sutnga.

West Khasi Hills
In Nongstoin, C&RD Minister Hamletson Dohling unfurled the Tricolour and took Salute of the four parade contingents comprising West Khasi Hills DEF, Civil Defence & Home Guards, NCC Boys and Girls of Nongstoin College, along with the Pipe Band of Shillong and the Brass Band Pyndengrei, at St. Peter playground, Pyndengrei.
Other highlights of the programme include tableaux display by various departments, felicitation of police personnel, among others.
South West Khasi Hills
In Mawkyrwat, MLA Abdus Saleh unfurled the Tricolour and took the Salute of the marching contingents comprising Meghalaya Police and Home Guards at Nativity Higher Secondary School playground.
Other highlights of the day include the tableaux display, felicitation of COVID-19 warriors, among others.
Ri Bhoi
In Nongpoh, Transport Minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare unfurled the Tricolour and took the Salute of the marching contingents comprising 6th MLP Battalion and a band troop at NSCA Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem.
During the programme, awards were conferred upon health institutions, ASHA workers, sportspersons etc.

Eastern West Khasi Hills
In Mairang, Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui unfurled the Tricolour and took the Salute of three marching contingents comprising Eastern West Khasi Hills District Police, NCC of St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Mairang and Mairang Presbyterian Higher Secondary School.
Other highlights of the celebration include tableaux presentation by Election Branch, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Office of the BDO, Mairang C&RD Block, and departments of Horticulture, Health and PHE.
Certificates of appreciation were also handed over to frontline workers in a bid to recognise their contributions in the fight against COVID-19.
Traffic volunteers of Pyndengumiong Village were also feted during the programme.
East Garo Hills
In Williamnagar, Cabinet Minsiter Sniawbhalang Dhar unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the lone marching contingent of the East Garo Hills District Executive Force at Rongrenggre Higher Secondary School playground.
The Republic Day programme saw a cultural event, tableaux presentation, among others.
Certificates and trophies were given away to the four best Common Service Centres, best kitchen garden of ICDS Anganwadi centre and others.
South West Garo Hills
In Ampati, MLA Thomas A Sangma unfurled the Tricolour and took the Salute of the lone parade contingent of the Ampati District Police at Ampati Students’ Field.
The main highlight of the celebration was tableaux display the departments of Health, DCIC, MBMA (Piggery Mission & FOCUS), and Swachh Bharat Mission, and a cultural programme.
During the programme, certificates of appreciation were handed over to sportspersons, police personnel and health officials, while Mellim PHC and Zikzak PHC were awarded the Best Performing PHC and the Most Promising PHC of the district respectively.
North, South Garo Hills
PHE Minister Renikton L Tongkhar and MLA Rupert Momin unfurled the Tricolours during separates programmes held in Baghmara and Resubelpara respectively.
The programmes also saw tableaux presentation, cultural events, parades, felicitation, sporting events, distribution of gifts and food packages, etc.
