SHILLONG, Feb 1: A day after a minor was held in connection with the IED blast case in Police Bazar, the youth wing of the HSPDP has expressed concern over juveniles treading the path of violence.
“I always believe youths are the future of the state. It is, however, sad to see youths getting involved in such activities. We want them to come to mainstream and be a part of the state and contribute towards its progress,” said president of HSPDP youth wing, Sandondor Rynthathiang.
A juvenile claiming to be Area Commander of Shillong Region of the banned HNLC was arrested on Monday in connection with the Police Bazar IED explosion case.
“He should be in school and studying. We are very much concerned and believe that we will conduct various awareness programmes and divert them from such kinds of act as it will hamper their future,” he said.
“As a youth, it is sad to see youths getting involved in such kinds of activities and steps appropriate steps should be taken by providing counseling to correct this,” he added.
