SHILLONG, Feb 1: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) on Tuesday threatened that it will be coerced into taking “corrective measures” lest the controversy over the election of Board of Directors (BoDs) of the Shillong Club Limited (SCL) is not resolved. “We will be forced to take corrective measures on our own if the internal politics within the Club is not stopped. We will like to see that the local people should continue their dominant in running the affairs of the club,” KSU general secretary, Donald V Thabah, said.
He said that people, who are in helms of affairs of running the Club, should not misuse their office and should ensure that they strictly follow provisions and rules laid down in the constitution of the Club.
According to Thabah, the present members of BoDs cannot suspend the membership of any member without the knowledge of all members.
“As the Union, we can also use force to interfere into the affairs of the Club. As per our understanding, the Club belongs to the citizens of the state and it is not a property of only four-five people,” the KSU general secretary said.
He added that people want to know about the findings of the police investigation into the alleged irregularities in the election of the BoDs of the Club.
