Govt permits gatherings, meetings

SHILLONG, Feb 2: The Meghalaya government has issued an order permitting holding of gatherings, events and meetings including weddings and funerals in the state subject to prior permission of the concerned authority with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.
Meanwhile, the state on Wednesday recorded 234 fresh cases of COVID-19 while four more patients succumbed to the viral infection in the past 24 hours in East Khasi Hills, taking the death toll to 1,533. The active tally stands at 2,075 while 88,013 people have recovered from the viral infection including 387 on the day.
