Twin tons help Nongmensong win big

SHILLONG, Feb 2: Tons by Arpit Bhatewara and Jaskirat Singh Sachdeva saw Nongmensong CC cruise through with a massive 146-run victory over Nongthymmai CC in their Shillong Cricket League Super Division match, here on Wednesday.
In the 40-over match, Nongmensong won the toss and decided to bat first. Player-of-the-Match Arpit played a perfect knock, scoring 111 off 103 balls while his teammate, Jaskirat made 107 runs in 94 balls.
Playing in his fourth cricket season, Arpit’s century was his eight overall.
Adding to Nongthymmai’s woes, Anish charak smashed a quickfire 50 that came in only 24 deliveries as Nongmensong finished their innings at 300/6 in 40 overs. Raja Lama took 2/35.
In reply, Nongthymmai were eventually reduced to 154/9 wickets in 29 overs after one of their players retired hurt.
Ujjal singh top-scored with 37 runs while Bijay Das scored a run-a-ball 32. Shavian Blah claimed figures of 2/27 from 6 overs.
