SHILLONG, Feb 4: The state government has finalised the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the 177-km Dainadubi- Dalu road project.
Elucidating, PWD (Roads) Minister Prestone Tynsong said that the Centre wants the road project to be completed at the earliest.
“We have finalised the DPR. I called the meeting of all the district collectors because we have to go for land acquisition and we will like to complete the submission of the DPR as early as possible,” Tynsong said.
The minister expressed hope that once completed, the project will benefit the Garo Hills region as it will facilitate connectivity between North Garo Hills, East Garo Hills, South and West Garo Hills.
He also informed that the project, for now, is faced with challenges with regard to land acquisition as some landowners are reluctant to part with their land.
The minister has, however, expressed hope that the hitch will be taken care of.
