Two-day state mourning for Lata

SHILLONG, Feb 6: The state government has declared a two-day state mourning as a mark of respect to legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar who passed away in Mumbai on Sunday.
“As a mark of respect to Late Kumari Lata Mangeshkar, the state government has declared two days state mourning on Sunday and Monday. During the period of mourning there will be no official entertainment and the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government establishments throughout the state”, an official statement issued here said.
Meanwhile, the Central Puja Committee (CPC), Meghalaya also joined the nation in mourning for the great soul and extended their heartfelt condolences to the millions of fans of the Queen of Melody, Lata Mangeshkar ji.
