Five Cong MLAs may face suspension: Pala

Shillong, Feb 11: The five Congress MLAs who extended their support to the NPP-led MDA coalition is likely to face suspension.

Informing this, MPCC president Vincent Pala on Friday said that the the AICC is against this move and action will be initiated against them.

He said that  show-cause notices would be served to all the five and  they were all be likely suspended.

The MPCC chief asserted that for the cause of the five MLAs they cannot lose out on the remaining 55 constituencies.

He made it clear that the Congress can do without them and has enough means to do so.

Meanwhile, Congress MLA from Ri- Bhoi, Mayralborn Syiem said, ” I am a Congressman and with the party and will stick to it. I cannot say much on this development as the ball is in the court of the party”.

West Shillong Congress legislator, Mahendro Rapsang was on the same page with Syiem and said that he attended the meeting as he is a Congressman and would want to stay this way.

Refusing to comment further he, however, said that the end decision liesd with the party and that would determine their decision further on.
