Guwahati, Feb 21: Assam revenue and disaster management minister Jogen Mohan on Monday flagged off an exposure trip of Recorder’s Certificate Class Course (RCCC) trainees to the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Meghalaya from the Assam Survey and Settlement Training Centre at Dakhingaon here.
The five-day training programme at NESAC, which got underway on Monday, has been organised in accordance with the spirit of the MoU executed between NESAC and the Assam Survey and Settlement Centre.
“For the first time, a special training will be given to the RCCC trainees on GIS (geographic information system), remote sensing and drone technology. It is expected to be extremely beneficial for the field functionaries of land revenue administration towards efficient land management,” an official statement said.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that training centres play a major role in increasing the efficiency of government servants in their respective fields.
He said that lat mandals play a crucial role in land-related matters and the application of modern technology will help them a long way while dealing with matters of land survey.
“Application of modern technology in land survey will also give a boost to flagship programmes such as Misson Basundhara,” Mohan said.
Amitabh Rajkhowa, commissioner and secretary to the Assam revenue and disaster management department and Pankaj Chakravarty, principal of Assam Survey & Settlement Training Centre were also present during the flag-off ceremony.
