NPP strength increases in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN, Feb 27: In the run-up to the 2023 Assembly polls, the National People’s Party (NPP) seems to have yet again garnered more strength with president of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Youth Wing Nongstoin Block, K Marngar, besides a total of 70 Youth Congress members from New Nongstoin joining the NPP on Saturday. The inductees were welcomed by Nongstoin MLA Macmillan Byrsat.
Newly appointed president of the National Peoples’ Party Youth Front (NPPYF) New Nongstoin Primary Unit, Liverpaul John Kharbani, commended the work carried out by the local MLA in Nongstoin constituency.
Welcoming the youths in the party, Macmillan Byrsat stated that the developmental works which were delayed due to COVID in the last two years or so have been restarted.
He revealed that projects like Nongstoin Urban Water Supply Scheme, which was delayed, is nearly completed.
In the newly constituted NPPYF New Nongstoin Primary Unit, Donal Syiem is the general secretary along with 12 executive members.
It may be recalled that several leaders in East Khasi Hills including KHADC MDC Fantin Joseph Lakadong (Congress), Grace Mary Kharpuri and Congress leader from Ri-Bhoi, Albertus Lapang among others had recently joined the NPP.
