SHILLONG, March 1: Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee president, Vincent H Pala on Tuesday said a final decision on the five suspended Congress MLAs would be taken after March 20.
“Majority of the AICC leaders are busy with the Assembly elections. The decision on the five MLAs will be taken only after all the AICC leaders return to Delhi on finishing their election assignments,” Pala said.
He said that he is not authorized as the MPCC president to take action against the suspended MLAs and said the AICC will decide. “So far there is no communication from the AICC,” he said. Pala said the new office bearers of the MPCC will meet on March 4.
“I would like to hear the views of the various district presidents on the five suspended MLAs. Around 70 MPCC office bearers from across the state to attend the meeting,” he said, adding that the MPCC will submit a report on the failure of the five MLAs to reply to the show-cause notice served to them after the meeting on March 4.
