TURA, March 1: Parents and guardians of Magurmari GA Secondary School in West Garo Hills have demanded the immediate dissolution of the school’s managing committee as well as sought the filing of an FIR, alleging that the SMC was constituted after certain individuals faked papers of a supposed general meeting and forged signatures of several people, which was submitted to the District School Education Officer (DSEO) for approval.
According to their complaint to the DSEO, while 39 persons were shown in paper to be present, 15 other persons whose signatures were found in the list have denied their presence during the supposed meeting allegedly held on November 14 last year. The parents informed that the 15 persons have all filed affidavits in court in Tura, copies of which were also submitted to this office.
The parents named two persons — Gaonbura Abdur Roshid and Abdul Mozid — as the main accused and sought the filing of an FIR against them for forgery and cheating.
“The signatures of villagers were forged by them so that they could re-constitute the MC illegally. There was no general meeting held on November 14 last year. This attempt by them, to mislead the official is punishable as per law,” the parents said,.
Seeking the immediate dissolution of the managing committee, the parents also sought the issuance of an order for conduct of a fresh general meeting with the involvement of parents.
