KHADC budget deficit; target to increase revenue

SHILLONG, March 8: A deficit budget for the year 2022-23 was presented in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) by Deputy Chief Executive Member (CEM) Gigur Myrthong during the first day of the Council’s Budget Session here on Tuesday.
Speaking at the Council premises, Myrthong informed that the expenditure was projected at Rs 194,97,66,210, while the revenue is estimated at Rs 194,97,49,210. With this, the deficit comes to Rs 17,000.
On the deficit budget, the deputy chief executive member assured the House that the Executive Committee of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council will try its best to find the ways and means to improve the revenue generation of the Council.
