Cow slaughter: Gaushala workers stage dharna

Hoshiarpur, March 13: Hundreds of workers of Sri Krishna Gaushala, Garhshankar on Sunday staged a Dharna and blocked vehicular traffic for about an hour at Banga Chowk in Garhshankar, about 43 kms from here.
In protest against yesterday’s incident of slaughtering of cows in the area of village Jhans near Tanda town, the protesters demanded the arrest of the real culprits behind the incident.
Later, Garhshankar Deputy Superintendent of Police Narinder Singh reached the spot and assured the protesters that all the culprits responsible for the incident would soon be arrested, only after receiving assurance the protesters agreed to end their protest and lifted the blockade. (UNI)
