CRPF celebrates 31st Raising Day with slew of programmes

Tura, April 3: The 120 Bn CRPF celebrated its 31st raising day with a slew of programmes at it’s headquarter at Dakopgre in Tura, West Garo Hills on April 1.
The day witnessed a series of impeccable regimental functions starting with the salutation and remembrance of the martyrs, felicitation of the chief guest at the Quarter Guard, interaction with the troops through ‘Sainik Sammelan’ and a blood donation camp by volunteer troops with technical assistance from Unit Hospital and Civil Hospital, Tura.
Anil Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Range Guwahati, CRPF was the chief guest.
During his address to the troops, the DIGP reiterated the glorious tradition of the CRPF and its core values of ‘service and loyalty’. He also emphasised on the importance of physical fitness, preventive healthcare, stress management techniques, benefits of buddy system, social cohesiveness of troops, latest cybercrime trends and stress management techniques.
A day earlier, the DIGP had graced the closing ceremony of a two-week-long riot drill training that was completed under the guidance of Pramod Kumar Singh, Commandant, 120 Bn CRPF.
The training focused upon the ‘less lethal approach’ for sensitive policing to effectively handle public order situations and comprehensive crowd management. A widely appreciated ‘demo on riot drill’ was also presented by the trainees.
Further a cultural programme consisting of diverse performances with pan-India shades was organised which was well appreciated by the chief guest, the guests from civil administration, sister agencies and troops.
The cultural programme was followed by a ‘bada khana’ to foster ‘Espirit Des Corps’ among troops and government agencies, as per the tradition of the force.
