Assistance
South Shillong Sanbor Shullai has extended a financial assistance of 1.7 lakh, sanctioned under discretionary grant for the year 2022-23, to five “voluntary institutions” for organising various social and welfare programmes for students, youths and general public. A statement in this regard informed that while the Garo Baptist Church Fire Brigade Prayer Cell (Lumsurvey) Bara Bazar, Meghalaya Rongali Bihu Sanmilan Asom Kristi Kendra, Stoney Land, and Cantonment Harijan Community Welfare Organization, Anjalee Area, have been provided monetary benefit of Rs 50,000 each, The KSU NEHU Unit and Meghalaya State Kickboxing Association Shillong have been provided Rs 10,000 each.

Training
The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with Grassroot will organise a training programme for lawyers and para legal volunteers on the topic ‘United Nations Declaration Rights of Indigenous People, Sixth Schedule and Free Prior Informed Consent on Saturday from 11 am to 1:30 pm at Shillong Law College.
