Eugeneson wants more for athletes

SHILLONG, April 7: Youth icon and incumbent MLA of Mawphlang, Eugeneson Lyngdoh, has asked the state government to come clean about its vision for the athletes, while emphasising that there is a lot of work that needs to be done.
“We still have lot to do regarding the development of our athletes in the state and the support they need from the state, and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done,” said the former footballer on Thursday.
Suggesting a start, he has called for a target to shift towards grassroots issues, especially the sports associated with the Olympics.
“Having the right coach infrastructure and everything else that needs to do with building of these athletes and the visions of what the state wants,” he suggested.
He lastly stressed that the state government must be clear about whether they want to produce quality athletes or go with what comes their way.
